Ron Barcelo was first founded in 1929 under the name Barcelo & Co. by Julian Barcelo, soon upon arriving in Santo Domingo. After years of experimentation in the market, the brand Ron Barcelo was established. Several years later, the Ron Barceló Imperial was born: the premium rum, the flagship of the Dominicans. This breakthrough lead to the consecutive international success of the brand. Currently, they are the fourth among the top rum exporting brands in the world.
